Snapshot: Rain

Hot, sometimes humid, the morning usually starts sunny. By 10 am, overcast. Noon brings the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance, getting closer with each crash.

Lightning, louder thunder, and a cool wind that drops the temperature at least ten degrees.

Then, the rain.

Sometimes it’s a light drizzle lasting only half and hour, sometimes it’s a downpour, all day, hitting the roof like it’s threatening to break through.

We’re not in the rainy season quite yet but we are getting a taste. Some days we have intermittent sun in the afternoon, no rain, but always thunder. I guess it is better to ease into it, get acquainted; I still need to find an umbrella.
