Steins of Bitburger (13$CAD) and the house Gaspar Lager (11$), warm soft pretzels and mustard (3$), sausage with ‘kraut, among other German faire.
I love their atmosphere – sophisticated, yet unpretentious and casual, tavern feel. Exposed beams, original stone walls, and soft lighting creates a warm and inviting space, perfect for thawing out after a day of walking around the city.
We hit off Burger Week 2012 here with their entry and it was phenomenal – “6oz of AAA Angus beef cooked on the fire grill, 4 slices of apple wood smoked bacon, Dro Blando cheese, crispy beer battered onion ring, famous homemade Jim Beam Bourbon BBQ sauce, on a fresh poppy seed bun”. They also feature a menu of all locally produced products, gotta love that.
